Character Profile – Vishnu Shankara

Age: 71
Marital Status: Above It
Race: Indian (Dot)
Occupation: Seven + Two Franchise Owner

Vishnu Shankara is what some people call a Fakir. He has attained a level of consciousness beyond that which Gulf City has provided him, allowing him to have a clearer understanding of the world around him. He still has a losing record in chess against Pho Hok.

Vishnu moved to Gulf City in order to achieve his dream of opening the most enlightened chain of franchise convenience stores on Earth. To date, he only has one store, the Seven Plus Two. This is also the local convenience store to AP and Ghastly, and the pair often visit it to obtain Hot Pockets and Cigarettes.

Remaining calm and focused is the way of the yogi, and his advanced training is exemplified in this ability to float above the ground, though he seems to only use this ability to calmly serve his customers at the Seven Plus Two.

Vishnu is Hundu, and an immigrant to Gulf City, which is 2 strikes as far as AP is concerned. However, despite AP’s daily jabs on his trips to the store, Vishnu remains calm, collected, and typically ends up on the winning end of the exchanges.  His enhanced enlightenment allows him, possibly via the power of the strange ruby on his forehead; to have an understanding of the world around him that others do not.  Ghastly and AP might even be able to learn something from this strange man, if they ever took the time to listen to him.

The only thing that ever seems to bother Vishnu, is if someone dares to disrespect his religion. He has been heard telling AP that “Shiva would be destroying you!”.  We look forward to learning more about Vishnu and his beautiful culture in the future.

Video: The Warm Pocket Pt. 1

Vishnu makes his Gulf city debut in “The Warm Pocket Part 1” when AP enters his store to use the microwave. he also has a part in “The 12 Days of Pesci”
