The Gulf City Cartoon Project
What’s all the hubbub, bub? The Gulf City project is managed by Justin Smith and John McIntyre, who you might recognize as the voices of Ghastly and AP. Gulf City was conceptualized and character sketches drawn by Ghastly over the course of the last 10 years.
in fact, we have so many fleshed out characters, crews, bosses, etc that as I am writing this, in Season 0, we have not even scratched the tip of the ice-berg. Gulf City has over 100 characters ready to be translated to digital format and “Cartooned”. So stay tuned, you will be meeting plenty of new Gulf city Citizens.
We have also used pioneer technology, in coordination with the people who crate that software, to make it possible to not only create cartoons, but produce LIVE cartoon entertainment. Talk shows, podcasts, live streams, you can talk to your favorite characters LIVE. Ask questions, reach out and touch cartoons in a whole new way never done before! Gulf City is diverse, with people and animals who immigrate from far and wide to become part of the rich tapestry that is the Gulf City project.
Gulf City created its first animated show on YouTube in April 2017. The cartoon was well received and quickly grew a very dedicated fan-base. our series of cartoon shorts ran before a now defunct news show, however, you CAN see the shorts here, and on AP’s and Ghastly’s channels.
While the cartoons were always popular, it did take AP and Ghastly a few months to find their footing in live entertainment. Appearing on live streams and even producing their own “Fright Power Hour” and “Saturday Night Streams” shows. Bob Balleza joined AP and Ghastly for the short lived mid-day live “Gulf City News” show and channel, where the crew would commentate on news of the day. Currently, AP and Ghastly are focusing the most on the cartoon and finding a producer willing to back the Gulf City project, AP’s podcast, Ghastly’s live “Fright Power Hour” and “Saturday Night Streams” as well as appearing on a few different live shows such as Warski Live, and TonkaSaw’s Morning Kumite.
But in addition to all of that live hotness, we ALSO upload all of our full length Gulf City cartoons on the Gulf City Cartoons Channel on YouTube. We are the busiest cartoons in the industry, and there is nowhere to go but up.
We made a TON of great friends and creator peers on YouTube and look forward to proving that this platform CAN be a springboard to other platforms.
Gulf City survives 100% on donations from YOU, and have for almost 6 months now. Those who donate to Gulf City monthly on Patreon or Makersupport, or live, via Super Chat or Streamlabs are our life’s blood. We are able to work full time doing live entertainment and animating the episodes because we are supported by the best and brightest community on the internet, hands down.
We cannot express enough our gratitude to those who are helping to build Gulf City and will endeavor to launch this cartoon on television so that someone else can hand us checks for this, as soon as possible. But UNTIL THEN, if you would like to donate, you can use the links below, and do so. Every dollar helps, and thank you in advance from the whole Gulf City family.
